Obituary of Carol Sue Futran

                                                       Carol Sue Futran

                                        January 31, 1935 - November 17, 2023

Carol gave her family so much love. She taught her daughters manners and values. She gave and did everything for her daughters and grandchildren. She was tough and you could love her or hate her, but she stood up for what was right. Carol was brilliant, beautiful, and classy but she never knew it. She taught her girls to ride; raising and breeding horses or buying them for cheap.  A trainer would start the horses, and she taught her daughters how to finish them.  They did not win every time, but she taught them to have good sportsmanship. And they won enough with the home grown horses.

Carol and Jim Putman did great work taking over management of the Reined Cow Horse World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity for many years. She owned and ran a Horse Show management company call Calarama with her best friend Norma Fox (Jorgensen).

She loved and helped raise amazing children and grandchildren, daughters, Kristin Futran-James and Kim Davis, grandchildren, Bear Davis, and Lexine Moyer. She loved her sister, Sharon Cooley, niece, Dana Cooley-Hickman, nephew Derek Cooley, son in laws, Todd James and Whitney Davis, and her dog Panda. Carol is now with her brother in law, Jim Cooley, and her grandson, Dustin Link. Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Argue, and father, Rollo Argue.

Carol was previously married to Dr. Leon Futran for 28 years.

This has been the longest goodbye for the past three weeks. Carol was such a fighter. She had Polio, 13 tumors removed from her neck and throat, many heart procedures and a pacemaker. She had strokes, breast Cancer, both knees replaced and much much more. Carol almost made it to 89. She did not want to go.

Thank you for all the friends and family who came to visit her, called and sent messages during these past few weeks.

Mom, you will always be in our hearts, we are forever great-full and we love you Kim and Kristin.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30pm on January 20, 2023, 408 Kinglet Ct., Folsom CA.
