Obituary of Cynthia Ann Forcier

 

Cynthia Ann Forcier (born Cynthia Ann Clark on December 15, 1933 in Newport, RI) passed away peacefully at her home in Penryn, CA with her surviving children by her side on October 26, 2023 at the age of 89.

Cynthia grew up in San Diego, CA and graduated in 1953 from Helix High School in La Mesa, CA. She married Jerry Forcier on March 9, 1954, and they moved from San Diego to Loomis, CA in 1960 with their children Dawn and Steven in tow. Her youngest son Michel was born that same year.

Cynthia's career was intertwined with her husband's endeavors. Jerry Forcier opened The Hardware Emporium in Loomis, CA in 1971 and Cynthia played an integral role in running the business while also caring for their three children. Her dedication and hard work were evident in every aspect of her life. She was married to Jerry for 43 years until his passing and continued to run the Hardware Emporium for years following.

In her free time, Cynthia indulged in her hobbies. She had a green thumb and found solace and joy in gardening. Cynthia was a talented quilter, creating kid’s quilts for donation through Project Linus. She also excelled at other crafts like tole painting. Cynthia couldn’t resist animals. She loved watching and feeding the birds and donated to various animal charities. 

Cynthia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Francis Forcier, her son Steven Forcier, her granddaughter Chelsea Ann Hein, her sisters Barbara Clark, Nancy Clark, and Beverly Clark; her brother Clayton Clark, her father Clayton Jerome Clark, and her mother Genevieve (Carter) Clark. 

Cynthia is survived by her daughter Dawn Forcier, her son Michel Forcier, her granddaughter Amy Hein, her grandsons Jason Forcier, Nathan Forcier, and Zachary Forcier; and her daughter-in-law Meredith Forcier. 

Cynthia Ann Forcier will be remembered as a smart, clever, resourceful, hardworking, funny and kind woman. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and her legacy will live on through the generations she leaves behind. May she rest in peace.

As per Cynthia's wishes, there will be no memorial services held. Instead, her loved ones will gather privately to celebrate her life and cherish the memories they shared with her.
