Obituary of Zertha M. Arthur

Zertha Arthur - Born September 21, 1920, in the home of her parents Gladys and Walter O'Brien in Randolph County, Indiana. Passed away March 16, 2022 at the age of 101 years. Zertha was reared in Saratoga, a small town in rural Indiana. At age 16 she met her future husband, Lloyd Arthur, from Spartanburg, Indiana. They were married March 11, 1939. Their family soon included three sons -Marvin, Arvin and Allen. When Lloyd enlisted in the Army Air force in July 1942, Zertha and the children joined her parents (the O’Briens) in Saratoga. Lloyd’s military service assignments required frequent family relocations including from the West Coast (Castle Air Force Base, California) to East Coast (Otis Air Force Base, Cape Cod Mass.), Goose Bay Labrador, and Hawaii. In 1971 Zertha and Lloyd moved to Winchester, Indiana. In 1984, they retired to Sacramento, California. In November, 2010 they entered assisted living. Lloyd died in 2017. Zertha is survived by members of her immediate family - oldest son Marvin of Stamford Texas, second son Arvin of Carmichael, California, and youngest son Allen of Golden City, Missouri. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and great -great grandchildren.
