Carol Dean Hull, age 94, after a long and full life, passed away on Saturday January 28, 2023.
Carol was born on July 20,1928 and raised in Toledo, Ohio, with a few of her early years spent in Florida. She was the oldest of three children.
Carol was married to Richard Birner from 1946-1966. As they raised their family, they lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana; Hamilton, Ohio; Timberlake, Ohio; and Sacramento, California. Carol was later married to Ross Sockolov from 1968-1976, and Milton Hull from 1978-1987.
Carol moved to Auburn, Ca in 1978 where she worked as a Realtor and designed and built two lovely homes. Carol retired in 1992 and moved to Kelseyville, Ca. where she built her third new home on Mt. Konocti overlooking scenic Clear Lake. She moved back to Sacramento in 1999 to be closer to her family, where she spent her remaining years living independently with her two dogs in a home she cherished.
Carol was adverturesome, cruising and traveling about the United States, Alaska, as well as Europe and the Middle East. She made friends easily, loved her motorhome, boating, and shared many good times with friends and family. Carol enjoyed the Arts, explored new ideas, and was very creative. She loved her Daschunds, Cairn Terriers, pond and aquarium fish, and cared for all wildlife. She was an avid gardener, reader, and enjoyed decorating her home, cooking, entertaining, and a good glass of wine.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Edgar Ray and Anne Dean, brother Gerald Dean, and sister Donna Burnside. Carol is survived by her three daughters, Linda Birner (Christie), Jennifer Hegji (Paul), and Naida Rasmussen (Ron).
Carol's family would like to thank the caregivers, handymen, neighbors, and many friends who befriended and helped our mom during her later years. She could be a handful sometimes, but she often said how grateful she was for your help and friendship (Frank, Keyth, Debbie, Jan, Jennifer, Leanne, Kennedy, Albert/Bethanne, Ellen/John, real estate friends Sue and Laurie, just to name a few). No funeral service or memorial is planned. Her ashes will be spread in a private ceremony in the Sierra Foothills near Auburn, Ca. on a later date.
