I met Pat when he came into Susan's life. Covid became a big thing around the same time they became a thing.
I watched their courtship evolve and was struck at how creative he was in a time when you couldn't go out in public. Candlelight dinners via Zoom, lots of gifts-even oranges from his tree-would be mailed and never failed to delight Susan.
Pat was an avid outdoorsman and shared a love of hiking with Susan. I believe many of their happiest times were spent exploring the Sierra.
He had such a kind and giving heart. For sure Pat left this world too soon.
May his memory always be a blessing.

I didn’t know Pat as long as we’d hoped, but I knew him well and loved him with all my heart. He was the kindest man I’ve ever known, bar none. I loved watching him on every adventure - hiking, skiing, kayaking…. He always had such joy on his face! I feel both lucky and grateful to have had him be such an integral part of my life. I’m forever changed by his influence and many kindnesses.
