Obituary of Michael William Hansen

Michael William Hansen May 30, 1946 - February 14, 2022 Sacramento, CA. Michael passed away the morning of February 14, at the age of 75, after a long year and a half of suffering through numerous major strokes and seizures. He was born in San Francisco, CA to his parents, William Eugene Hansen and Marjorie Alene Astredo. Michael served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Vietnam war when he was 18 and then upon discharge, married his wife, Marcia Hansen (Horner) and they were together 54 years. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather and a good friend. Michael enjoyed watching car races, esp the NASCR ,and the INDY 500 most of all as it fell on his birthday May 30 the true Memorial Day holidaybefore holidays were moved to Mondays. He was a 49ers faithful season ticket holder. He loved being on some sort of boat on the water which made him feel at home — be it houseboating, waterskiing, or just boating on his “Spirit of America” ski boat, and of course cruise ship cruising — in fact, he really enjoyed taking as many cruises as he could. He never took life too seriously and always had a joke and a smile for anyone he encountered, which endeared so many to him. Michael is survived by his wife, Marcia Hansen, his daughter, Micaela Williams, son-in-law, Henry Williams, grandson, Theodore Michael Williams, and his brother Mark Hansen. May he find peace, comfort, and happiness surrounded by those who passed before him. “May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.”
