Obituary of Jimmy Ray Rich

'Jim’ Jimmy Ray Rich January 20, 1943 - November 12, 2021 "We Love You, Dad!" Jimmy Ray Rich, also known as Jim to his many friends, passed away surrounded by love on Friday, November 12, 2021, at the age of 78. Jim was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in and around Glendale, where he attended school. His love of cars came from his dad who worked on race cars and his career as a mechanic began at an early age, nurturing a strong lifelong work ethic constantly admired by all who knew him. Around sixteen, he followed family up to northern California, where he finished high school and got his first job at the Ranch Café, which he loved. He primarily lived and worked in Roseville, Citrus Heights, Lincoln, Rocklin, and throughout Yuba County. He managed City Auto Supply in Citrus Heights for many, many years and owned and managed Mike’s Auto Energizing in Roseville. Other than cars, he had much love for movies, westerns, football (LA Rams and Raiders), NASCAR (#3 and #8), fishing, boating, dart championships, and generally having an all-around good time! A cowboy at heart, he was kind, loyal, funny and generous to a fault and any conversation with him was never without him cracking a joke or telling a story, all with a cowboy hat pushed back on his brow and a knowing, smart-ass smile. His loving family and friends are proud to carry so many memories of him where ever they go and will find much joy and happiness in the retelling of all those stories. In lieu of flowers: Jim had an unwavering fondness of animals - whether his many pets, like Lucky and Brandy, or countless lovable strays - and we know he would prefer that any generous donations made in his name go directly to Placer County SPCA: https://placerspca.org/support/donate/ Jim is survived by: The Rich Family: his wife Wilma Rich.
